What products and services does FRS provide?
FRS is a leading fund administration software company that designs and delivers business solutions for some of the worlds leading financial services institutions, such as Eureko and Aviva - enabling them to administer funds in an efficient and controlled manner.
InvestPro is a complete Unitised/Mutual fund and pension fund accounting and administration system. In a Life Assurance office the system sits between the administration system that holds policyholder data and the investment managers, enabling companies to administer unit trusts, life assurance funds, mutual funds and personal portfolio bonds in a controlled, resource efficient manner. InvestPro is a fully integrated, end-to-end solution that enables more funds to be administered by fewer people, in less time and with rigorous controls.
Our clients include some of the giants of the financial services world and also a number of small Life Assurance companies and Wealth managers. Our clients fall into the following categories - Life Assurance Companies, Third Party Administrators, Funds Industry Companies and Wealth Managers / Stockbroking Firms / Private Banks.
Why are financial services companies looking to companies like FRS for their fund administration needs?
Traditionally in-house systems were the norm because solutions did not exist in this space - the cost of maintaining IT, programming and operative resource as well as senior management involvement in the fund administration and accounts area is large. Automating this area can result in achieving large savings. Reducing the amount of data input by hand increases controls. Companies can get results faster and produce accounts more frequently with the assistance of a good system.
The industry has changed with new fund structures, complex tax rules and additional regulations, modifying legacy systems can regularly be more expensive than employing a modern proprietary system.
How does FRS differ from its competitors?
FRS is more than just a fund administration software company. Founded by a group of senior Actuaries, we understand the industry better than most and have an ethos of only attracting top people. We have a strong day-to-day working knowledge of the real-life challenges facing the industry. For our clients, this knowledge and experience is a crucial ingredient in how we design and deliver our software solutions.
Our systems are designed for the Life Assurance, Funds Industry and Wealth Management sectors and uniquely handle a large number of areas that have plagued these sectors for a long time. InvestPro has in-built tax management and regulatory reporting, these change regularly as the sector further evolves. We are not aware of any other system that manages both Personal Portfolio Bonds and Unitised Funds in the one system allowing cross investment. Finally our clients tell us that no other system comes close to the level of inbuilt controls in our applications.
FRS was established in 1999 by a group of Actuaries who had spent years on the other side of the desk working with different fund administration systems. Unable to find an efficient system, they began building numerous "work-arounds" and quickly realised that there was a tremendous opportunity to develop a product that could solve complex problems for Life Assurance companies. Launching FRS, the founding Actuaries combined their industry know-how and investment product knowledge with the skills of leading software specialists to develop FRS's flagship product: InvestPro. Within two years, five International life assurance companies had adopted InvestPro with more companies signing on every quarter.
